Sustainability

Matthijs is constantly working on improvements in sustainability in order to make a difference in the world. Step by step we are getting closer to a sustainable business.

Waste and energy

We are working on several technological improvements in the factory process to minimize combustion and also reduce gas emissions to the minimum. In addition to reducing energy consumption, we separate our packaging, as cardboard and plastic.

Save the animals

To also do something for animals, our residual waste of raw materials and products goes to an organization that makes pet food. We do this to prevent waste. Furthermore, we also do our best to have as little animal gelatin in our products as possible. For example, we have created a veggie assortment and are preparing our products in a vegetarian way. Furthermore, there are ongoing developments towards sugar reduction in a responsible manner.

Supporters

Because we think it is important to do something for someone else, we support many associations. We also find it enormously important to do our bit for sports clubs, because exercise is important! Think of horse riding clubs, tennis clubs and small soccer clubs. At some events you can even win candy prizes!

Outside of supporting associations, we also contribute to charities. We donate our empty bottles and candy to a children's foundation.

Matthijs contributes

Matthijs B.V. is also doing its part to support the hardworking people in care during the corona period. We are therefore happy to donate 650 bags of candy to the Regional Ambulance Service to give these bitter times a sweet touch. Enormously grateful for all your efforts!
